I got my nose re-pierced a few months ago (I changed it after the recommended healing time to a hoop a few days ago. I went to change it back to the stud I got it pierced with just there but the stud wont go back through, it's quite a bit thicker than the hoop. have you got any advice cause I prefer wearing the stud for school/work etc.

Well, before we get to the stud, I do want to say that changing your piercing too often can irritate it and increase risk of infection, even if it’s been a few months after the initial piercing. During the first year of a nose piercing, it’s suggested that you change your jewelry no more than once a month. So, if you prefer the stud for work and school, you should just keep the stud in.

As for getting the stud back in- if the hoop is thinner than the piercing, it sounds like your nose has already adjusted to the hoop, therefore you won’t be able to get the stud back in. I would simply go back to the piercer and have them put a smaller stud in for you if even they can’t get your current stud to fit in your piercing.
